INTERVIEW with Ankita Dasari || Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist 2024
SD: Hi Ankita. Can you introduce yourself to my readers who don’t know you yet?
AD: Hi everyone! My name is Ankita, and I'm currently a Preliminary Finalist in Miss World Australia 2024. I'm passionate about community service and personal development, and I've been actively involved in various IT and commerce clubs at university. Additionally, I've had the opportunity to work with Variety the Children's Charity, helping to support children in need.
SD: You’re a Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist 2024. Can you tell us more about it?
AD: Becoming a preliminary Finalist in Miss World Australia 2024 has been an incredible journey. It required a lot of dedication and preparation, as well as determination while organising fundraising events, etc. The experience has been immensely rewarding, allowing me to grow personally and professionally, and to engage with a community of inspiring individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
SD: How did you become interested in pageants?
AD: My interest in pageants began with my love for community service and watching Priyanka Chopra during my childhood, who was my role model growing up. I saw pageants as a powerful platform to raise awareness for important causes and to challenge myself to grow in areas like public speaking and self-confidence. The idea of representing my community and advocating for issues I'm passionate about was incredibly appealing to me.
SD: What’s in your makeup bag right now?
AD: My favourite Maybelline foundation, my bronzer (that I also use as lipstick since my favourite look is the brown lip), a stick blush from Mecca and a clear gloss at all times.
SD: What is your vision of success?
AD: For me, success is about making a positive impact on others while continuously growing and evolving. It's about achieving personal and professional goals, helping others reach their potential, and maintaining a balance between personal fulfillment and contributing to society. Staying true to my values and using my platform to advocate for causes close to my heart is also a significant part of my vision of success.
SD: If you could give one piece of advice to your 14 year old self, what would it be?
AD: I would tell my 14-year-old self to embrace every opportunity and not to fear failure. Each experience, whether a success or a setback, is a learning opportunity that contributes to your growth. Stay true to your passions, be kind to yourself, and always believe in your potential.
SD: Who are you most inspired by in the Pageant World and why?
AD: I'm most inspired by Priyanka Chopra in the pageant world. Her journey from winning Miss World to becoming a global icon in entertainment and philanthropy is incredibly motivating. She has used her platform to advocate for important issues and has shown that pageants can be a gateway to diverse and impactful careers.
SD: How have beauty pageants impacted your life and your career?
AD: Beauty pageants have significantly impacted my life and career by boosting my confidence, enhancing my public speaking skills, and providing opportunities to connect with a wide network of people. Additionally, my experience in pageants has strengthened my commitment to charitable work, especially with organisations like Variety the Children's Charity.
SD: What is your best beauty secret?
AD: My best beauty secret is prioritising skincare and hydration. Healthy, well-moisturised skin is the foundation for any great makeup look. I also make sure to use sunscreen daily and get enough sleep, both of which are crucial for maintaining a radiant complexion.
