INTERVIEW with Leah Morgan || Miss World Australia QLD State Finalist 2024

SD: Hi Leah. Can you introduce yourself to my readers who don’t know you yet?

LM:
Hello everyone, I'm Leah, delighted to share a bit about myself. Born and raised on the beautiful Gold Coast, I've always been deeply committed to community service and advocating for causes close to my heart. Currently, as a Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist 2024, I see this opportunity as a pivotal moment to amplify those values on a national platform. Whether it's supporting local charities, promoting sustainability initiatives, or empowering young women, I'm driven by the belief that positive change starts with passionate individuals taking action.

SD: You’re a Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist 2024. Can you tell us more about it?

LM: It's an incredible honor to be selected as a Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist for 2024. This journey represents far more than just a competition; it's about embodying qualities of leadership, compassion, and empowerment. Through this platform, I aim to inspire others to embrace their strengths, pursue their dreams, and make a meaningful impact in their communities. I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Miss World Australia legacy and promote values that resonate with people from all walks of life.

SD: How did you become interested in pageants?

LM:
My interest in pageants stems from their unique ability to merge glamour with purpose-driven advocacy. Growing up, I witnessed how pageant contestants used their influence to raise awareness for important causes and effect positive change. This inspired me to participate, knowing that it could serve as a powerful platform to amplify my voice and champion causes I deeply care about. Pageants, to me, represent a fusion of beauty, intelligence, and social responsibility—a combination that aligns perfectly with my personal values and aspirations.

SD: What’s in your makeup right now?

LM:
Currently, my makeup bag is stocked with essentials tailored for both everyday wear and special occasions. I always carry a reliable foundation that provides a natural finish, mascara for voluminous lashes, a versatile eyeshadow palette that offers both neutral tones and pops of color, lip balm to keep my lips hydrated, and a highlighter to add a radiant glow. These essentials not only enhance my features but also boost my confidence when stepping into the spotlight.

SD: What is your vision of success?

LM:
My vision of success revolves around making a lasting impact through service, advocacy, and leadership. It's about using my platform as a Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist to inspire positive change and empower others to believe in their potential. Success, to me, is not just about personal achievements but about contributing to a greater good, whether it's through raising awareness for important social issues, supporting charitable initiatives, or mentoring future leaders. It's about leaving a meaningful legacy that extends beyond accolades and titles.

SD: If you could give one piece of advice to your 14 year old self, what would it be?

LM:
Reflecting on my journey, if I could offer advice to my 14-year-old self, I would emphasize the importance of self-belief and embracing one's uniqueness. At that age, it's easy to feel insecure or doubt your abilities, but those challenges ultimately shape who you become. I would encourage my younger self to trust in her strengths, pursue her passions relentlessly, and understand that setbacks are opportunities for growth. Above all, I would remind her that authenticity is her greatest asset, and staying true to herself will pave the way for meaningful achievements in the future.

SD: Who are you most inspired by in the Pageant World and why?

LM:
In the Pageant World, I find inspiration in all individuals who use their platform not just to showcase beauty but to advocate for social causes, promote diversity, and empower marginalized communities. These trailblazers embody resilience, compassion, and a commitment to creating positive change in the world. Whether they're raising awareness for environmental sustainability, advocating for mental health initiatives, or championing gender equality, their dedication inspires me to amplify my own voice and make a difference in areas that matter most to me.

SD: How have beauty pageants impacted your life and your career?

LM:
Participating in beauty pageants has had a profound impact on both my personal growth and professional development. They have provided me with invaluable opportunities to enhance my public speaking skills, build confidence in front of diverse audiences, and develop leadership qualities. Beyond the stage, beauty pageants have connected me with like-minded individuals who share a passion for community service and social responsibility. They have opened doors to collaborate on impactful projects, network with influential leaders, and contribute meaningfully to causes that are close to my heart.

SD: What is your best beauty secret?
LM:
My best beauty secret, as a qualified beauty therapist, is rooted in the importance of skincare. A healthy, glowing complexion is the foundation of any makeup look. I prioritize a consistent skincare routine that includes cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting my skin from the sun's harmful rays. Hydration is key, both internally through drinking plenty of water and externally with hydrating serums and masks. Additionally, I believe in the power of natural beauty, embracing one's unique features, and using makeup to enhance—not mask—your natural radiance. Confidence, kindness, and authenticity are the ultimate beauty secrets that shine through in any setting.
