SD: Hi Caroline and Vivienne, for my readers who don’t know you yet, can you please introduce yourself?

CnV: We are 2 friends who have always worked in the design field.

Caroline studied Industrial Design in NZ and had a market stall upcycling second hand fashion which was her initiation into sustainable fashion all those years ago. She then went on to London to study Interior Design. From the design school in London she was offered a job in Portugal designing kitchens and bathrooms for a German company, importing the beautiful handpainted tiles from Portugal she moved back to Australia.

Viv was given her first sewing machine at 8 years old and had some well known fashion designers as her mentors. She made several outfits for TV presenters at the age of 16 years. And became a sample machinist for many years in Auckland NZ.

Moving to Australia she ran a very successful business manufacturing all the soft furnishings for the elite boat brand Riviera on the Gold Coast.

SD: What was the biggest inspiration behind your latest collection?

CnV: Roses made from recycled denim!

SD: What helps you get in the zone when you’re designing?

CnV: We are lucky enough to have an amazing studio based in Burleigh where we are surrounded with inspirational fabrics, trims and all our sewing machines, each machine is specialised for different applications. We also have each other and we bounce all our creative ideas together.

SD: How do you want people to feel when wearing your pieces?

CnV: Comfortable, fashionable and unique.

We like our customers to feel really special knowing they are helping our planet for the future by not contributing to excess landfill which we are very passionate about, and becoming a part of the circular fashion movement.
SD: What is your favourite part of being a designer?

CnV: Doing something we love that has a purpose.

Designing unique one of a kind pieces and customising clothing for people. We also love the fact that our customers trust us to create something especially for them which feeds our creativity.

SD: Without giving too much details away, what should we expect from your collection for Brisbane Fashion Month?

CnV: Ohhhhhh we have some funky summer vibes happening with our core pieces and accessorising them with colour and creativity!

What we have done with some recycled denim jeans will blown you away.
