SUZII K is an emerging and upcoming designer on the rise in Brisbane. Although Suzi Knezovic (the designer) did not complete her fashion design studies, her work has appeared in many press releases, prints on magazine covers, social media, and pop up runway shows. She has built quite a big exposure through her hard work and efforts. It is also her second year to showcase her designs on the catwalk for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Brisbane. I spend a few minutes with Suzi interviewing her.

SD: Who inspires you, and why? It doesn't have to be one particular person.

As some may know Valentino is my major inspiration, but other designers closer to home who have inspired me are Collette Dinnigan, Alex Perry, Kym Ellery and Johnny Schembri. They all have their own aesthetics that sets them apart but each designer also carries an inspiring story, they all have/are worked their way up in the industry Australia wide & internationally in some of the biggest fashion capitals in the world.

SD: Clue-wise, what should be expected for the your latest collection showcasing at MBFF Brisbane in terms of style and colour perhaps?

It's going to be a very dreamy & dramatic collection.. Dreamy in the form of design and fabrics, dramatic in the moods and colours of the overall collection..

SD: Knowing that you're only 20 and have achieved so much already, what's the hardest part about being a designer at such a young age for you?

Um, I wouldn't say there is a hard part to doing what I'm doing.. I'm doing what I love full time, yes it can get a little stressful but that's apart of the process with any dream/career?

SD: What are some of your long term goals for your full-time business?

To take SUZII K global, who knows a shoe & bag range might be in the mix! We'll have to wait and see!

SD: Domestic or industrial sewing machine? Pick one and tell why you chose that one.
Industrial!! I love my domestic but industrial all the way, it's faster more efficient and can you really fault those amazing machines! Haha
