INTERVIEW with Nikia Rockley || Miss Galaxy Australia National Finalist 2024

SD: Hi Nikia. Can you introduce yourself to my readers who don’t know you yet?
NR: Hello everyone, I am Nikia Rockley, a 3 time winning pageant queen & currently a Miss Galaxy National Finalist.
I am a Perth-based girl, who is planning to represent Western Australia at the Australian Galaxy National Finals in May.
Behind all the glitz & glam, I am a hard working individual that spends her free time riding & competing horses.
I also spend a lot of my time volunteering & spreading awareness for The Heart Foundation, as my best friend has Cardiomyopathy which means her heart is at a stage of heart failure, her heart is bigger than its meant to be & is working at 50% of someone at her age.
SD: You’re a finalist for Miss Galaxy Australia 2024. Can you tell us more about it?
NR: Yes, I would love to. I am currently competing to be your next Miss Galaxy Australia. With doing this it has given me the opportunity to be able to volunteer in my community & raise much needed funds for batyr. So far I have been able to raise $1,100 for Youth Mental Health.
I plan to keep using my platform to spread awareness for the Heart Foundation & to encourage women to be the best version of themselves they can be. As being confident in yourself is the best way to be yourself.
SD: How did you become interested in pageants?
NR: I used to do acting as a teenager, so I was always on Starnow looking for jobs & opportunities, when I came across an ad for Australia's Teen Queen, I didn't hesitate & put in my application. Since then I have been completely hooked, I love everything that pageants have to offer & the friends I make along the way.
SD: What’s in your makeup bag right now?
NR: Good question, it would have to be a morphy lip gloss, my Skin 02 setting powder & Lash glue. As my lashes always love to stick up at the end of the day.

SD: What is your vision of success?
NR: My vision of success is to be happy & to know that whenever I do something I have always come out as a better person, plus I will always take things as a learning opportunity even when things don't go the way I had planned in my mind.
SD: What do you admire in a woman and why?
NR: I admire a woman when they have their own self drive, I will always sit in awe & support a woman, if I see they have the drive to succeed & be positive to the people around them.
SD: If you could give one piece of advice to your 14 year old self, what would it be?
NR: Don't listen to all the haters, as if you can see what we have now you would think we are in a fairy tale as dreams do come true.
SD: Who are you most inspired by in the Pageant World and why?
NR: I don't have just a single person as each person I meet inspires me in different ways & I love that each person I meet is just as fun & loving as I am. Each person brings something different to the table & I will always be inspired to be a better person like what they are.
SD: How have beauty pageants impacted your life and your career?
NR: If I didn't have pageants in my life I would not be as happy as I am, mostly all of my best friends are from pageant & I get so much joy out of spending time in my community due to being involved with pageants.
SD: What is your best beauty secret?
NR: A good moisturiser is the key to everything. If you are dry & flakey your make won't look as good & you won't feel confident in it.
Beauty is there to make you feel happy in your own skin.
