INTERVIEW with Chloe Richards || Miss World Australia QLD State Finalist 2024

SD: Hi Chloe. Can you introduce yourself to my readers who don’t know you yet?

CR: Good Morning to you beautiful readers, My name is Chloe Richards and I am a competing as a State Finalist for Miss World Australia. For those that don’t know me I am currently studying Paramedicine which I love and play AFL as a hobby. I am a firm believer in channelling my own energy, to always see the beauty in the simple things and be grateful for everything we have. I love the ocean, the country and exploring our beautiful world. Meeting new people is a highlight of my day as I love learning and hearing others life experiences, yet I still value and appreciate time to myself as this allows me to refocus and regroup.

SD: You’re a Miss World Australia Preliminary Finalist 2024. Can you tell us more about it?

CR: Yes, I have been selected  in the Preliminary Finalist for Miss World Australia now competing for a place as a QLD state finalist. From a young age I’ve always loved the pageant industry, wanting to compete in one when I’m older, just like my mother did in her home country Belgium. Beauty with a purpose truly resonates with me as women have made such a significant impact in the world we live in and continue to strive for great things. As a student paramedic I want to emphasize the raw, natural beauty and talent women hold, not only being beautiful on the surface however the intelligence women hold inside their gorgeous brains.

SD: How did you become interested in pageants?

CR: From a young age, I’ve always loved modelling and the idea of showcasing fashion designs, brands or products. While many may believe that I’ve started and entered late in this industry, the universe and myself believe I joined at the right stage in my life. Learning about my mother’s participation 3 years in a row when she was in her early 20’s inspired me to follow in her footsteps.

SD: What’s in your makeup bag right now?

CR: For someone who isn’t very much into make-up as I love and want to promote raw and natural beauty I aim to minimise the amount of make-up I apply. My make up bag always has:

  • Brow gel

  • Mascara

  • Black eyeliner

  • Red eyeliner

  • A spare eyelash/brow brush

  • Lip liner

SD: What is your vision of success?

CR:
Success can never truly be measured, as everyone’s idea of success varies. My vision of success is happiness within, having a loving, caring family while being financially stable and well off. Success for me is having cultural diversity experience, learning about and from the world from first-hand experiences and making a positive impact and difference in the lives of others. Success is having health – inside and out, a caring and supportive network of family and friends and a career that you love while also being financially well-off in order to fully live your life.

SD: If you could give one piece of advice to your 14 year old self, what would it be?

CR: This was a tricky question to answer as there are multiple pieces of advice, however, if I had to choose one it would be to take every opportunity that arises. As a driven young lady that has many goals and sometimes applies a bit too much pressure on herself is that my 14 year old self I would want to take all the opportunities. The ones that seem terrifying, plan that trip if you’re able to change jobs and it’s alright to be scare but that means it can also be exciting.

Everything also happens for a reason. That the universe has a plan for you and you just need to work and apply yourself towards things that make you feel good and will aid in your success in life. Don’t bend backwards to please someone. Be yourself, those that align with you will join the dance of life with you, and those that don’t will leave.

SD: Who are you most inspired by in the Pageant World and why?

CR: Honestly, I couldn’t pinpoint one person I am inspired by. Multiple gorgeous ladies have inspired me as they demonstrate true leadership, resilience and entrepreneurship. But in reality I inspire myself. My will and determination that I hold and demonstrate everyday. Yes, I am still quite new however, I am now a pageant girl and I always amaze myself with what I can do.

Yes, I love how each one has a different story and at the end of the day is just like me and all the other girls competing. Jasmine Stringer was a school teacher, now full time model and loves horse-riding – which I love, Zoe Creed, her fitness business and grounding energy, and many other girls who have stories just like us.

SD: How have beauty pageants impacted your life and your career?

CR: I am hoping that competing in beauty pageants impact my modelling career growing my connections as I strive to work more with natural brands that have a mission to positively impact all young, elderly, middle age women and men.

Miss world Australia has impacted my life in a way that allows me to see my own raw beauty through my smile, personality, skin and everything else. It highlights confidence, character, elegance and positively in everything that you do, supporting your belief in yourself.

SD: What is your best beauty secret?

CR: My beauty secret…well it isn’t much a secret if I tell you, now is it? However, there’s not much to it. I always ensure I drink 2-4L daily as this helps my skin glow and stay clear. I love my food and allow myself to snack on those guilty pleasures every now and then, however, I love eating healthy. It boosts, my energy, decreases my bloating and breakouts while making me feel good. I always clean my face morning and night using a makeup wipe, removing any dirt or makeup I’ve applied and then using Aveeno or Cetaphil – as I have naturally sensitive and dry skin, which moisturises my skin and makes me feel ready for the day, while relaxes me at night. I have started also applying sunscreen after on my face and hands as our Aussie UV is much harsher and stronger then the rest of the world, and this sunscreen will reduce the amount of skin damage when I’m older.
