Inspiring Minds Movement Presents United Women
Yesterday at United Women I was joined by twenty or so women passionate about self-development, empowerment, doing self-love and self-care and basically wanting the best out of their lives. It was my first time attending an Inspiring Minds Movement and I have never seen so many women break down into tears at an event such like this. It’s not a bad thing too - the women attended this event at The Drapery felt safe to share their personal stories to one another - to strangers. I love how everyone’s stories were different, but we shared one thing in common - we are raw, strong and vulnerable in our own stories. At the beginning of the event, we did an ice-breaker activity and I shared that I spent almost two years in a mental health rehab. I said I have moved on from my trauma and abuse in the past - and basically giving off that vibe that I was thriving in life and also working in mental health to give back. I shared this with positive energy. The lady next to me asked me, “How many times have you said that speech?” - and I said, “A lot.” I really enjoyed this event yesterday - the luxury grazing table was also so delicious and amazing. The materials and booklets given were useful and educational. I left the event with a great goodie bag too and my heart was so full of joy and positive energy by the end of the day.
